Book Review: Jessi's Secret Language

Hi everyone,

Welcome to this book review. First of all, if you haven't already sign into my website so that you can receive notifications and emails when I post new content.

Anyway, let's get into this book review.

I will be reviewing the adaptation of a book in Ann. M. Martin book series 'The Babysitters Club'. There are many authors and illustrators who have adapted this series and turned the books into graphic novels. They have become very popular all over the world. This particular graphic novel is written by Chan Chau.

This graphic novel is one of the easiest to read graphic novels out of the series because Chou uses simple yet powerful words to convey meaning.

In this book, Jessi the newest member of the Babysitters Club has started to regularly babysit a young deaf boy and his older sister. She also has a ballet recital which she has been chosen to be the soloist. She is the now the youngest at the ballet school, so some girls think she is the teacher's pet.

Jessi is a very hardworking middle schooler. The babysitters club get a call from a new client. A mother who has two children one deaf boy and one girl. The boy's name is Matt, and the girls name is Hayley. Jessi takes the job to babysit. Before she officially starts babysitting them, she has to learn sign language. She finds learning sign language fun because she has a new way to communicating with others.

She finds out that one of her ballet classmates has a deaf sister. But the deaf girl's family don't bother learning sign language. Jessi encourages her friend to learn sign language so that she can bond with her sister. Jessi is also able to make friends with the other girls at her ballet school.

Later on, in the book Jessi and the Babysitters create a surprise activity for Matt and his friends at his special school.

Throughout this book, Jessi learns that taking care of siblings can bring joy and sadness to older siblings.

I would definitely encourage young people to read this book because it is very simple to read, but still has a very important message.

Anyways my friends, I hope you guys like this book review. Please checkout my other book reviews of 'Friends Forever' and ' Amulet: The Stone Keeper'.

But other than that have a great day.
